Status holders use the regular facilities
If an asylum seeker receives a refugee status, they have the same rights to facilities as other inhabitants in The Netherlands. The municipality must offer the status holder housing. From the moment status holders leave the COA and are registered in a municipality, they make use of regular health care services. Their health insurance from the Regulation on Healthcare for Asylum Seekers (Regeling Zorg Asielzoekers – RZA) is converted into regular health insurance. Vluchtelingenwerk offers status holders support in the first period to find their way in the municipality where they live.
